A wild garden has been created in bid to bring Sale town centre to life.
Pupils from Springfield Primary School teamed up with the 'Sale Town in Bloom' team to plant flowers by Stanley Square, on the corner of Sibson and Springfield Road earlier this week.
Sale Town in Bloom is a community project spearheaded by Stanley Square’s general manager Tony Martin, while the committee is chaired by keen gardener Jane Poole.
Three large circle shaped beds have now been created on the large, grassed area facing St Paul’s Church, thanks to owners of the shopping centre, Altered Space.
Tony said: “We are excited to see Sale Town in Bloom finally come to fruition, it is something that has been talked about but has never been initiated - until now.
"Jane and I are extremely grateful for the support that we have so far received from Trafford Council, our amazing sponsors and more importantly the volunteers that are eager to help - after all without the volunteers this project wouldn’t happen.
"I am hoping to see local businesses get involved and hopefully we will see some creativity and worthy trophy winners."
He added: "As a proud Sale resident, I am really looking forward to seeing everyone working together for the greater good of our town and community."
Pupils from Springfield Primary were provided with seeds, compost, and clay to create 'seed bombs' which they then threw on to the beds and are anticipated to 'come to life with colour'.
The In Bloom team will also be introducing bird and insect boxes to the wild garden area to help pollinate plants.
Sale Town in Bloom will reward the business with the best display a specially made trophy created by Stanley Square business Bean & Brush, they will also receive a certificate and there will be two runners up selected in the process that will also receive trophies and certificates.
Visitors to Sale town centre will see the central planters along School Road brought to life when the volunteers get to work in May, there will be some additional planters introduced and the In Bloom team are also looking at creating an edible garden area introducing some fruit trees.
