Desperate to find a home
Sushi is one of the animals waiting for a home.
Sushi is one of the animals waiting for a home.

THE RSPCA in Altrincham has a number of cats and dogs that desperately need to be rehomed.

Some of the animals have been in the care of the charity for the past year and require loving homes.

Cats include: Sushi is nine-years-old, affectionate and loves to be held and stroked. She is fit and healthy and loves to play with toys and string.

She would not be suitable for young children as she is easily spooked and dislikes people moving about quickly. Sushi is an indoor cat and should not be left to wander as she has poor hearing. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and housetrained.

Baby is three-year-old female who has been well looked after, spayed, vaccinated and toilet-trained. She has only just joined RSPCA and having never been away from home is nervous. She has had a quiet life and no contact with children.

Thomas is a male cat around three to four-years-old, neutered and vaccinated. He was found stray and is very friendly. He doesn"t mind other cats, is very gentle-natured and should be fine in a home with responsible children.

Levi is a five-year-old spayed female cat. She is friendly and playful and should be fine with responsible children as she is gentle-natured although not fond of other cats.

Chloe is a friendly black and white cat, spayed and vaccinated and would make a good addition to any family, including one with responsible children. She likes other cats and is used to being around dogs.

Ellie is a friendly black and white cat, spayed and vaccinated and looking for a permanent home. She too would make a good addition to any family, including one with responsible children as she is fine with other cats.

Velvet is a seven-year-old black female, found stray suffering from collar wounds on the neck, which have been treated and have now cleared up. She is friendly and loves attention, should be fine in a home with responsible children or anyone looking for a companion cat.

Dogs include: Ralphie, a tan and white Jack Russell aged eight years. He has been in RSPCA care for a while and is looking for a home where he will receive lots of love and attention. He is an energetic dog and loves a lot of exercise and walks.

Barney is a one-year-old Whippet cross. He is looking to find a new home with a family who can take him on long walks. He enjoys being around people who can give him a lot of attention.

Sophie is a one-year-old brindle Staffordshire cross. She has been in RSPCA care since October 2007.

Tweet is a female two-year-old Jack Russell. She is full of fun and loves people.

Squishy is a small Brindle cross female. She is two-years-old, long haired, loves attention and is very energetic.

Contact Margaret for information about the cats on 0161 929 7266 and Julia on 0161 286 2503 for further details about the dogs.

Hi, Vess
Not sure if RSPCA would rehome at that distance - have you considered Walsall CPL?

If they are that desperate to re home them surely any acceptable home would be of great help to them.

I myself have given a home to 3 wonderful cats - not from here, but from other homes. They are great loving pets, are very funny and each definatly has their own personality. They dont take an awful lot of looking after and the right cat can be wonderful comapny! I hope all these animals find a home - wish I could help but three is enough in my small house.
